Gait analysis is a helpful tool in helping individuals find the right footwear for how they walk or run. High-speed video with gait analysis software allows for slow motion replay and study of dynamic movements, gait patterns and abnormalities in your walk or run.
During the assessment you will be able to view your own walking or running style, helping you to visualise and understand your own individual gait. The video analysis forms part of an overall assessment, and will be explained as you watch in regard to how it can be influenced by certain stretches, strengthening or other external interventions such as footwear and orthotics.
How are assessments carried out?
At Prescription Footwear Associates we use the latest equipment to record and assess your gait. The treadmill is typically used for the running gait assessments, whilst most walking assessments are performed along a flat walkway.
