These are shoes or boots made on individual lasts with the best degree of support, correction and/or containment for each foot.
These are usually reserved for complex foot problems such as acquired or congenital deformities, trauma injuries or more extreme diabetic or arthritic foot conditions.
Profiles and measures and sometimes pictures are taken of the feet. The last (the wooden form the shape of the client’s foot) is built according to these details, making allowances for the individual requirements of each foot.
The first fitting will commence after approximately six weeks at which point there will be no sole on the footwear, allowing for any alterations to be made to improve the fit and shape. Once the fitting is successful the footwear will be re-lasted, finished off and be ready to supply after approximately three weeks.
