About

PFA (Prescription Footwear Associates) was established in 1996. Our purpose-built clinic in Barnham, West Sussex offers...

  • High speed video gait analysis
  • F-scan in-shoe pressure mapping
  • CAD-CAM orthotic production
  • Specialist footwear
  • Bespoke lower-limb splints
  • Podiatric care

PFA's clinicians work both individually and as a team across a range of disciplines. They work closely with our on-site technicians, allowing us to offer a comprehensive service for a whole range of foot and lower limb conditions.

Our clinicians

  • Consulting Orthotist – Alan Drew has over 45 years experience in orthotics, combining knowledge of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and engineering. His specialist areas are the orthotic needs of amputees as well as other complex physiological and neurological conditions associated with the foot and lower limb. He is HCPC-Registered and a member of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO)
  • Certified Orthopaedic Practitioner – Marion Paul specialises in wound care management, particularly the use of soft cast bracing to enhance the natural healing process. She is also a specialist in the treatment of leg ulcers and other tissue viability problems, and will make and fit lower limb and soft cast splints to treat sports injuries and trauma injuries.
  • Podiatrist/Chiropdist – James Drew is an HCPC Registered Podiatrist.  He holds both a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry and an MSc Masters Degree in Lower Limb Musculoskeletal Disorders from Cardiff Metropolitan University.   James uses video gait analysis software and in-shoe pressure mapping to combine new  technology with established musculoskeletal assessment techniques in his clinical practice.  He also provides general foot care, treating problems such as in-growing nails and callus. James' other professional interests lie in lower limb off loading orthotics for diabetic and the at-risk foot in the treatment of plantar wounds.
